And We’re LIVE
Toronto 2015 website is now live!
This year marks Stephen's 22nd year in marketing. Over the years, he's launched some amazing brands, worked with the best marketing minds, helped start up a roster of dynamic marketing agencies and watched the business transform from traditional to digital. What's next?
This year marks my 22nd year in this business (no age jokes please). Over the years, I’ve launched some amazing brands, worked with the best marketing minds (clients and agency types), helped start up a roster of dynamic marketing agencies and watched the business transform from traditional channels to the digital and social revolution we’re experiencing. So sometimes I think… “What’s next? Can anything really improve this crazy ride I have been on so far?” I found the answer about a year ago when we first started with the team at Toronto 2015 Pan Am / Parapan Am Games.
An essential part of this assignment, live today, is a website that truly represents an absolute professional favourite. One simple reason: Legacy. I’m a Torontonian, proud and true (even Mayor Ford’s antics of late won’t take this from me). I have watched this city, analogous to the marketing industry’s transformation, change from a homogenous, conservative city to a world-class, culturally diverse, metropolis that holds its head high in a global climate that has cities, not countries, competing for the cool factor. The chance for FUSE to work on the biggest, most prestigious sporting and cultural event to ever take place in Toronto, let alone Canada (yes, these games are bigger than Vancouver 2010), is pure joy. My hometown is stepping up to host an incredible event for the pan Americas and our team at FUSE and our sister company, Soft Gravity, couldn’t be more proud to be part of this mega legacy assignment.
The site is a culmination of our best minds working with Toronto 2015’s best minds – a great partnership. Building a site for the future meant we had to open our scope to meet the needs of digital 2.5 years from now (we couldn’t know exactly how tablet or mobile devices might evolve). Our solution was to develop a site that will seamlessly function across any device, in three languages, and has the scalability to manage large to massive volumes of visitors. And this is just the beginning: Many more digital innovations via this platform will be revealing as we approach the games.
I want to thank the great partners we have at Toronto 2015: Your faith in FUSE and Soft Gravity, and your approach to partnership, is truly inspiring. We’re now live… I hope you enjoy the site, and of course, the games. Check it out
